‘Meld’, an experimental collection by ceramicist Emma Louise Payne and glassmaker Phoebe Stubbs. ‘Meld’ has been a longtime in the making for Payne and Stubbs who are collaborating for the second time, having worked together previously on a project with architeture studio, Red Deer. With a shared experience in lighting design, and an interest in technique and the playfulness of design, the ‘Meld’ collection has been a labour of love and demonstrates what is possible when you work without creative constraint.
Sculptural and functional, the collection incorporates a floor lamp, table lamp, cocktail lamp and series of mirrors. Formed from textural, ceramic-glazed stoneware segments combined with silky hand blown glass, the process-driven designs showcase simple shapes in earthy tones that allow the textures of the materials to shine through.
